Michèle Godaert Allen was born and raised in Paris, France. She earned a B.A. in Art History from the University of Memphis in Tennessee. During the past 30 years she has also been involved in stained glass, sculpture, and pottery.

In recent years she has devoted more of her time in painting shapes and patterns reflected in the well-defined landscape near her family home in Burgundy. Her inspiration derives from the exhilarating display of colors created in poppy and sunflower fields, wheat fields and the red-roofed villages of the French countryside. With colors alone, she defines forms and contours that vibrate with feelings of happiness. The simplicity of the scenes creates harmony and consistency. She transfers to the canvas an inspiration that is pure, fresh, and simple.

Her work is in numerous corporate and private collections In France and across the United States, including Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, New York, St. Louis, California, Colorado, Florida, Washington.
